(alphabetical order, cause really, they are so different and evenly matched it seems silly to rank them further)

Bride of Frankenstein
Carrie
The Haunting (original b&w)
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (original b&w version, but the 70's remake was awesome, too)
King Kong (orignal b&w, tho I'm the one person in the whole world who liked the 70's remake too; haven't seen the Peter Jackson remake yet)(yes, I know, in the past I've not included this as a horror movie. It's a close call)
Nightbreed (this probably wins the "most underrated of all time" award)

Best of all Time, Second Tier:
Fire, Walk With Me (aka Twin Peaks: Fire, Walk With Me)
Frankenstein
Lost Highway
Mulholland Drive (scary as fuck and a great film, but not very Halloween-ish
