It is cool, tho I come in and hear other people on the radio who are apparently seeing more meteors than me, and I wonder if they have telescopes or am I doing something wrong. There are plenty, and they are cool, but it's not remotely something I'd compare to a swarm of monarch butterflies. If any of the rest of you are seeing them and they *are* all over the sky, let me know. Maybe it's the locale? I'm listening to a northern cali station and am in southern cal.
Also: the local station said earlier today the meteors could be best viewed laying on your back w/your feet facing northeast. If you have dogs, this is really, really bad advice. Also, you get all sandy and twigs in your hair. =)
Of course, standing can get you a fly-by from a curious bat.
